Disobey the Duke if You Dare is a steamy mahwa meant for fans of romantasy, magical romance, and monster romance. Like other manhwas, Disobey the Duke if You Dare was originally published in Korean as a webnovel and then adapted into a manhwa by RIDI. The comic was then translated into English by Manta Comics. The original webnovel has not yet been officially translated into English.

After the death of her second husband, Lily is forced into a third marriage by her father. Her new husband, a duke, is rumored to be a monstrous warmonger, but to her surprise, he turns out to be a kind and thoughtful man. The only catch… she must never see his face. Will Lily respect his wishes, or will she disobey the duke?

Thoughts:

• Lily is twice-widowed and forced into her third marriage to the Duke by her abusive merchant father.
• Duke Vladislav de Winter is the illegitimate son of the emperor and a naga-like monster female. The Duke is Lily’s third husband but refuses to let her see his face.
• The story takes place in rich fantasy world remisniscent of medieval times, but full of magic and monsters. The Duke’s land is a safe haven for those which society rejects.
• Although “don’t look at my face” is the first conflict of the novel, it gets old quick. Once resolved, the plot becomes even more engaging. Readers will be hooked by the Duke learning to overcome his insecurities over his “monstrous” background and Lily breaking free from the shackles of her abusive family. It is a treat to see Lily display her business abilities and use it to take down her father.
• The comics romantic and sexy. The Duke is swoon worthy, handsome and protective. The sex scenes are steamy. Not much fading to black. Season 3 episode 76 and 77 will leave you shooketh (in a good way!).
