Pestilence, War, Famine, and Death – known as four horsemen – arrived on Earth with the power to destroy humanity. When Pestilence targets Sara’s town, she shoots him but learns he cannot be killed. Now a prisoner, she questions his intentions and her feelings. To save the world, Sara must sacrifice her heart.
Pestilence is the first installment in The Forse Horsemen series and to put it simply, it not our thing. To be clear, Thalassa is clearly a talented and imaginative writer. Pestilence made us cry and laugh. We can appreciate the book as a piece of literature with a poignant conflict and a morally questionable romance. However, we simply could not get behind a “hero” that kills millions, including children, in the most painful of ways. Don’t even get us started on Sara, who falls in love with him regardless. Yes, he may find humanity worth saving in the end, but it was too little too late.
Subgenres: paranormal romance and post-apocalyptic romance.
