Paranormal Romance
MATCH. Bride is a hot vampire/werewolf romance with lots of witty banter. The burn is slow and I wanted lots more of it. Hazelwood has created a rich paranormal world that has unfulfilled potential.
MATCH. Dirty Blood (#1-#3) is a dark and sexy read. The medieval fantasy world Barsetti has created doesn’t make much sense (why do they use such modern words?!) , but don’t let that stop you from sinking your teeth into this series and going along for the ride.
It is a MISMATCH for Feral Sins by Suzanne Wright! This shifter romance is like a f*ckboy you want to “swipe right” on because he is so good-looking, but there is just no substance and SO much cringe. The spice is super hot though! That alone might make it worth a read for some.
MIXED MATCHES. In Five Packs “trailer trash” meets shifter romance. Prepare yourself to run through the gamut of emotions each and every time a “mate” is rejected! That said, Alec from “His Curvy Rejected Mate” (#4) is an absolute alpha-hole. Curvy Flora is treated HORRIFICALLY. There is not enough groveling in the world! F*ck that guy!
MATCH. Gothikana by RuNyx delivers on erotica and creepy mystery. However, dialogue reads like fanfiction at times, and the world of Verenmore University is not fully developed. Fun dark romance read nonetheless.
MATCH. Hoarded by the Dragon is a super explicit paranormal/fantasy romance where a dragon shifter with two d*cks impregnates a thief (and ALL that that entails). It is a angsty, magical, well written, funny, and with surprising moments of depth.
It is a MISMATCH for How to Help a Hungry Werewolf by Charlotte Stein (ARC). This “Low and slow” burn romance is just a little TOO cozy. Werewolf hero is absolute HIMBO and the spice isn’t particularly inspiring. Halloweentown vibe was cute though.
MATCH. The Parasol Protectorate series is a steampunk paranormal mystery romance that will make you cackle-out-loud and swoon real hard. This is such a treat. Alexia Tarabotti (preternatural) and Lord Maccon (werewolf) together 4EVAH!

Sci-Fi Romance
It is a MATCH for Brides of Kylorr series (Books 1-2) by Zoey Draven! Perfect for lovers of the poor heroine that conveniently marries or falls for the rich guy/alien. Yes, (financially) save me!
It is a MATCH for the CLECANIANS (Books #5-7, and novella Releasing Maladek) by Victoria Aveline! This “mars-needs-women” romance is full of alpha aliens falling for human women and melting like putty. Ruling Sikthand in particular catapults this series into the stars!
It is a MATCH for the CLECANIANS (Books 1-4) by Victoria Aveline! This “mars-needs-women” romance is full of alpha aliens falling for human women and melting like putty.
MATCH. These sidestories to the Dark Planet Warriors series are definitely worth a read. Darkside Blues takes place in between Books 4 and 5, and follows the romance between Kordolian medic Zyara and human “mafia hero” Kai. Earth Files Book 1 is a slice of life story between Rykal and Arin (protagonists of Book 5, Forged in Shadow).
Dark Planet Warriors had me in a chokehold! This sci-fi romance series is full of delicious (and tyrannical) alpha aliens falling in love with human women. Each book is its own romance/adventure, but there is an overarching conflict that spans the entire series.

It is a MATCH for the Galatic Kings series by Anna Hackett! These sci-fi romances are action and alpha packed. Are they sometimes very corny? Yes. But they are still good fun.
MIXED MATCHES for Horde Kings of Dakkar (Book #4-5). While Taken by the Horde King (#5) was an absolute feast, I wanted to take the MMCs from Broken by the Horde King (f*ck boy) and Throne of the Horde King (ambitious a-hole) to Suplex City!
It is a MATCH for Horde Kings of Dakkar (Books #1-3) by Zoey Draven. These alien barbarian sci-fi romances are spicy and plot forward. Each Vorakkar is an alpha to the extreme and will make you swoon. These are for you if you are still dreaming of Khal Drogo!
MATCH. Oronis Knights is a sci-fi romance / space opera trilogy. If these romances were movies, they would be in your “cult classics” favorites. The science doesn’t always make sense, the romances are a bit corny, but it is all great fun!
Romantic Fantasy
It is a MATCH for Disobey the Duke if You Dare (Comic Vol. 1)! A slow burn monster romance between an abused widow and a half-human/half-monster Duke. I read the entire manhwa on manta.net and it was hot as hell.
COSMIC MATCH for Under the Oak Tree (COMIC Vol. 1)! The love between Sir Riftan and Maxi is one for the romance hall of fame (no joke!). This HOT comic is uber faithful to the magical book.
COSMIC MATCH for Under the Oak Tree (Vol. 1) by Suji Kim (ARC)! THIS is true romantic fantasy. Sir Riftan Calypse is healing all of my daddy issues. He may be overbearing, but he loves his tortured Maxi with his entire alpha heart. It is beautiful to watch Maxi bloom.
It is a MATCH for Wraith Kings by Grace Draven! Wraith Kings is a magical romance series made for readers of plot foward romantic fantasies and slow burn romances. Draven is an exceptional writer with a talent for world building and character development. She writes a solid and immersive — if not particularly pulse racing — romance.
